A Fundraiser for a Young Man - Cystic Fibrosis
Just a quick mid summer pop in to mention a fundraiser that is going on this weekend for a great young man, Joe MacKool. Joe has been struggling with Cystic Fibrosis all his life. The past year Joe has endured some very trying times health wise and to be honest we're all lucky that he has pulled through and is actually on his way to recovering from a double lung transplant that took place at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. I'm sure most of you can understand the expenses that have accumulated for the MacKool Family. The operation, expensive trips back and forth to New York city and so on. Enough said about that.
Friends and family have been organizing a fundraiser for Joey to help offset the expenses. The fundraiser will be this coming Sunday at the Pepsi Building at the New York State Fairgrounds. Ticket donations are $15.00 at the door for a max of $60.00 for a family of 5 or more. Children 10 and under are admitted free. There will be plenty of raffles to be sold along with entertainment and just a good ole time to be had by everyone. Hopefully a band or DJ will come through so I don't have to be the entertainment. Although I have been told I do a good Blue Christmas by Elvis Presley. So anyways if your looking for something to do this coming Sunday and to help a good cause, please feel free to attend the fundraiser.
On another note if you can't attend and would like to make a cash donation you can do so online at www.joemackool.com . We also need donations of prizes for the raffles and there is information at www.joemackool.com about that also. If your a business owner and would like to offer your products or services please see the contact info at www.joemackool.com for information or you can just leave a comment here and we can arrange for a pickup. Please keep in mind that no donation is ever too small and all donations are appreciated. A huge thanks in advance for your kindness and it is deeply appreciated.
Oh, yes I know part 2 of the wrap up from last season is still over due and I know how much you all love and most likely must miss my updated during the long summer months as we patiently wait for our favorite season, winter to arrive. NOT!!! Have a great summer all.

My great nephew Owen has just been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. he is 9 months old.
The family will be having an inspector in to go through their home in order to identify areas that need to be upgraded/changed to make it comfortable and livable for Owen. This includes changing the ductwork, installing air conditioning, removing all carpets and other irritants in the home, including any areas of mildew etc. The costs to this young family are great.
I wanted to organize a fundraiser, but wasn't really sure how to go about it and saw your notice on your site.
Please send me any information you can about your fundraiser, how you organized it, what help you had, things I need to know.
I was thinking of a pancake breakfast with Santa probably in mid-November. I thought it would appeal to young families and the local community so they can come out to support one of their own.
Another nephew of mine is in a band and has agreed to make his band available to play at any event we organize.
Thank you for any help/direction you can give me,
Patricia Robb
