HEADS UP!

Well doubt any of you will be up to read this before it happens, but heads up on the line of severe storms heading across the state early this morning. Let me tell you I am as sound of a sleeper as they come and when this line blew hit it made me jolt out of bed. Can't remember ever hearing the rain pelt the side of the house so loudly before. Hail, tons of thunder lightning, and the wind is incredible. Had to be gusts over 55 mph. I'm really suprised I can't see more damage right now out the window.

It's only been about 20 minutes since it happened and the power website is already showing upwards of 10,000 outages already across WNY. The police scanner is buzzing with outage and damage reports. The line is holding together pretty good and will probably be in Rochester as I publish this and maybe even hold together toward Syracuse and arrive around 6ish.

Oh and the Buffalo temp rose to 63 again this morning marking a 3rd day of record temps!

GOOD MORNING!!!!

Just dropping in a quick report while I am at my girlfriends house who has power. I am one of the 35,000+ without power in Buffalo at my house. Quite a bit of damage around the area, wind gust reports as high as 70mph, I'll have a report later on with some pictures hopefully. Hope to have power back this afternoon but may be out as long as tomorrow morning.

Hope everyone else faired well last night!

Sounds like a plan to me General. The power goes out and you get to hang with your girlfriend ;)

I hope there isn't too much damage but looking at that bow on the map you posted I can see why there would be though. Hopefully you'll get your power back soon. It's pretty gusty here in the Syracuse area and so far I the highest wind gust I have seen on any of the sites for our area is 59 mph so far. I slept through it and being the sissy man I am when it comes to wind I'm glad I did, lol.

For whatever reason whenever it's trash day in my neighborhood it seems that the winds want to kick up to cause a mess and that they did. I'm off to pick up the neighbors garbage across the street.
