Snow Doubt About it - Syracuse Leads Again

Syracuse managed to sled into first place again for only the second time this season. After a blustery, wind whipping day with snow falling most of the day Syracuse picked up 9.3 inches once again over takeing the king of the snow hill. It's also the biggest lead that Syracuse has had this season and the question is will they be able to hold on to it?

Steve from the forum and also from Buffalo states that the lake is pretty much frozen over and what ever isn't will most likely be by the end of the weekend. I'm not convinced that Buffalo is ready to lie down yet though. We've had some weird weather the past year or so and I think it will continue so my guess is we will still see a back and forth lead right down to the finish line. Rochester is definitely a city to be concerned about. They still haven't gotten it going like they can but they will. They continue to add up some inches and will right into Spring and beyond.

Albany??? Forget about em as far as snow goes! Kudo's to Albany though. They are sending some plows and help up to the north. No sense in all that equiptment just sitting around getting rusted. With the snow or make that lack of that Albany has had this year they could of just shoveled the roads :) Why waste the gas with the plows?

I don't know what to say about Binghamton. So far they have been the biggest disappointment and surprise this snow season and they are killing my prediction as to how the cities would end up this year. Most of my predictions were based on a couple of Nor' Easter's hitting us this season which is why I had Bingo in 3rd place. I suppose it's still a possibilty and remeber the blizzard of 93 hit on March 12 - 13 so it's really not a matter of time running out but they need to get something going just to try and keep up with the top 3 city's. Have a Great Weekend All!

Below are some snow stats just to show you how we are doing so far compared to last seasons snowfall on this date. Notice Buffalo and Rochester are some where near last seasons numbers. Syracuse is pretty far off last seasons numbers mostly becuase of the snow that fell in Syracuse in December a season ago. Binghamton and Albany are way off on their totals. What's this all mean? Beats me, I was just bored ;) Have a great weekend all!
